Truly a one-of-a-kind museum-quality piece. This is the catcher\'s mitt that Bob Feller\'s father caught him with as a teenager in the 1930\'s, prior to Feller\'s joining the Cleveland Indians. Included is an original wire photo of Bob Feller holding the glove with his family present, at the time of his induction into the MLB hall of fame in 1962, as well as a note of provenance, signed by Bob Feller. The glove has seen additional wear since the 1962 photo was taken (lacing has snapped at webbing), but some creases can be matched to the photo.
The original vintage wire-photo of Feller with his family will be included, as will the signed Feller notecard (will add scan at some point). I picked up the wire-photo long after I acquired the glove, so it was a pleasant bonus. I am not sure if I actually have the press photo showing Feller with his father (I have a ton of photos and scans), but if I locate it, it will also be included (but no promises). Feller originally sold this glove to Barry Halper, and a letter from Halper will be included that tells the story of how he acquired it. I realize that Halper items are sometimes questioned, but the Feller letter, along with the photo should qualm any fears.
