AUTHENTIC RUSSIAN SOVIET USSR SWORD WWII SHASHKA STAMPED IMZ 1945

Very rare Soviet WWII military sword -- shashka (shashqua). I have been collecting Russian edged weapons for a while and now downsizing. This sword was purchased from a reputable sale house here in the States and is guaranteed to be authentic. Multiple stamps, including star, letter \"Ц\" in few places, numbers,star on the handle and manufacturing factory -- IMZ (IjevskMetallurgicalFactory), and a year -- 1945 on the blade. Original scabbard, with original finish. Per Mr. Kulinsky\'s book, 1945 shashka issue was made to exact specs of the 1886 design. Blade line is a bit uneven towards the tip -- appears to be a factory variation. Very high quality steel, with that unmistakable hissing sound as you run your finger along the blade, like my Hinckels knifes.

38 1/4\" long overall, in scabbard, blade is 31 3/4\" long.

Very good condition overall. Fine addition to any collection, a real piece of history.
