One must admire the skill represented by this simple tools construction. This divider has a five leaf joint that was split with a chisel and artfully joined to make a smooth functional joint that has stood the test of time. It\'s difficult to pin down when this was made as they were made essentially the same way for hundreds of years. There are no makers stamps so I\'m guessing that it was well before factories came into their own around 1850 or so. It measures about 6 1/2” long.
