Very rare and unique item that is an antique, advertising and a chess board. The chess board has a wooden frame, with mother of pearl encased with a gold foil along with the black glass squares, enclosed under a pane of glass. The unique nature of the chess board is an enterprising Edward H. Rugg & Co. use it for an advertising medium. I would date it to the early 1900\'s. Measures 18\" x 18\" x 1\" in very good condition for it age. The backing which is black paper material is loose. The frame has a handle like it may have been hung on a wall. Very unusual.
