Antique Firehouse Fire Gong Bell Alarm Brass & Oak Gamewell? *No Reserve:
Here's the big boy that all fire collectibles collectors are looking for. My father had this in his collection for years, but it's time to move it out of storage and on to someone with big enough walls to enjoy it. I do not see any markings on it, but for a "7" on the brass mechanicals, as well as a foundry mark on the back of the gong, but I can't make out what it says. It's needs a heavy dusting, but comes with it's cabinet glass and original winding key. Just gave it a little wind and pulled the trigger... Wow, this thing is loud! The oak case has some crazing to the finish, but it's been that way for as long as my father had it. The oak case measures 31" tall and 18" wide. The gong or bell measures 15" wide and about 2.5" deep. This thing is big and heavy, so shipping will be $60.00 anywhere in the states. I will ship it in two boxes. See pictures and ask any questions.

Thank you to Chicagofirealarmstation for some additional information on this gong. He has certainly done lots of research on this type of unit and feels confident that it is a Harrington, not a Gamewell alarm, and possibly with a replaced gong. I will post some more photos of it tonight after I give it a good dusting to see if I can find any more marks. I did measure the width of the gong to the exterior measurements, and he mentions that they should be measured to the interior of the gong width as well for identification. I will remeasure that tonight as well. I apologize for any confusion.
