Swiss, late 19th century. A double comb cylinder music box, the exterior with burl walnut and walnut veneer, inlaid satinwoods, decorative moldings, paint-enhanced marquetryto the lid, and painted instrument and floral decoration to the front, the lid interior with bird\'s eye maple, walnut veneer and inlaid decorative band, raised on four padded feet and with two brass handles. The lid opens to reveal a 19.5 inch cylinder with two combs, a song indicatorand zither attachment, serial no.59459; case ht. 10, wd. 38, dp. 16.25 in.

The song sheet is gone. Veneer lifting and other veneer damages. Has fabulous sound. A real stunning find!
