American Flyer type Rolling stock truck for S gauge model trains For Sale

First time offering to the world of HI Rail American Flyer S gaugers. (Made entirely in the good old USA). This is an introductory offer. This offering includes for One pair (2) trucks - Bare w/springs & Screw -- no axles, journal covers or coupler. AS seen in PIX #1- #-2 - #-3
Some of the Picture illustrations show the FP trucks fully dressed --- THESE ARE FOR ILLUSTRATION ONLY.The product as pictured is a new design Ficus Products (TM)replacement inactive spring truck assembly for all Pre-1966 American Flyer rolling stock cars. This is a truck to replace Link or Sintered Iron trucks. The unit is designed for mounting a Knuckle coupler. The coupler is attached with one vertical screw up from the bottom for utilizing the std single hole coupler. The attaching 4-40 screw comes with the truck. The assembly is laser cut 100% steel and commercially blackened. The unit has inactive springs for improving the overall appearance of the trucks. There is nothing to break or come loose on these trucks. The truck is supplied without journal covers as they can be removed from your old Link trucks and re-applied to these trucks. With some modification these could be used on a tender to complete a total transformation of a train set to the look of spring trucks. Note: these have independent individual springs in each truck.
The truck is made from heavier tougher metal so the stiffeners that are common on a flyer truck isn\'t necessary. This truck is also a little lower profile than a common link truck, yet the coupler height is maintained to the standard. NOTE: The comparison pictures on Pix # 4. Also see Pix # 7 to see different type connection rivets. . There is also a screw together connector that doesn\'t require a hammer and punch.
It will not be necessary to remove the link portion of your truck anymore to add the knuckle coupler. Simply remove the entire link truck-- remove the journal covers and lay the old truck aside. Install the new unit with your own components. If at some point U want to switch back - the link is still intact on your frame. Re-apply the journal covers and you\'re back to the original.
The truck can be attached with the std flyer rivets - OR with a screw together assembly. The truck comes in the small hole type at this time. Although drilling out the hole to accept a larger rivet is easily undertaken.
Note; These trucks are made from a thicker material. However, thetendon (the portion for clinching) on a std rivet will extend thru the heavy weight truck to make a good connection.These trucks are tough enough to withstand grandchildren play and should easily will be around into the next century.
