Alpha 76CA HF linear Amplifier less than 1 hour of use, mint shape For Sale

I am offering what could be considered a MINT shape Alpha 76CA HF amplifier. This amplifier has less than 1 hour of use, and that use was just testing. I purchased this a few years ago from a group of amateurs that were big contesters. Back in the day they purchased 7 or 8 of these very amps, and had 2 or 3 that were never put into service and kept as backups only. As backups to Alphas, they never got used, which isn\'t surprising as Alpha amps are real workhorses and will keep on going. Keeping an Alpha as back up amp for another Alpha, almost guarantees that is will never be used, Hi Hi. This amp almost smells new, has no marks or scratches and is in show room condition. Being the 76CA, it is the three hole amp which takes three 8874 or 3CX400A7 ceramic triodes which are in it now, and like brand new. In addition this amp the CA using the light weight Hypersil Transformer, which is highly sought after and what makes this 76 a CA, or commercial grade duty.
This amp has not been tinkered with or modified, however, I did order new filter caps from RF Parts as well as Alpha\'s low drive module. After talking with an Alpha technician, I felt that if this amp has been sitting around since the 80s, even though not being used, it would be safest to replace the capacitors, so that is what has been done. In addition the Alpha low drive module was purchased and installed at the same time.
Essentially, this is a new amp, with original manual, but due to circumstances, I do not have the original boxes. This amp has been sitting in my shack under a dust cover, and has literally less than 1 hour on it. It has never been around any tobacco smoke.
I am selling to raise funds, and since I never use it, why not pass it on to someone who will really appreciate it and let it be the beast it was built to be. When I do have time for radio, it is mostly monitoring and QRP CW.
I will ship to Canada and the Lower 48 for the actual packaging and shipping costs. This will not be cheap to ship, but I will do my best to find the safest most economic way to get it to you safely. It will likely be 2 if not 3 boxes. One with the amp and manual, one with the Hypersil transformer and one with the new 3CX400A7 tubes. The price listed in this offering is likely way high, so wait until I send you an invoice with the actual costs.
