YOU ARE offerDING ON A SIGNED SEPIA PORTRAIT of American violinist and composer, ALBERT SPALDING (1888-1953) with music quotation, 9-1/2\" x 11-1/2.\" (the last two letters of his last name are clipped off from right bottom corner). Sepia portrait is mounted on hardboard which is clipped from left bottom corner which contained part of inscription. \"Best wishes, Monmouth Beach 1911\" and 3 measures of music in 2/4 are clearly evident. Monmouth Beach was the summer home of the SPALDING sports family.Photo engraver\'s name is in lower right corner (? 38 Dove, London, Mayflower).
The edge on left side of portrait has a couple bites; very top right corner is clipped . Portrait is in very fine condition with no creases or folds. Spalding appears to be in his 20\'s with portrait taken in London, c. 1911(?).
