DESCRIPTION

A SCARCE, Vintage 1947 original pinback featuring Jackie Robinson. Issued in his 1st season when the Brooklyn Dodgers rookie broke baseball's color barrier, this 1-1/4" pin was one of several manufactured and sold at Ebbets Field. It is also one of the tougher Jackie pinbacks that seldom show up.

More than just a baseball collectible, this is a historical piece that symbolized a move toward "unity" in our country. Think about it. Patrons that originally wore this pin button, whether they were white or colored, publicly proclaimed their support and openly rooted for this man - at a time it was unpopular in many pockets of our nation. The pin is in beautiful Ex/MT condition with the union label mark stamped on the reverse. A wonderful keepsake representing more than a great athlete but a true champion of civil rights.

For INTERNATIONAL Destinations, Packages over $50 will be sent via USPS International Priority Mail. Packages over $200 must be sent via USPS International Express Mail with tracking (as only Express Mail is insured and trackable for international packages).
