1946 Harmony Acoustic Archtop Guitar w/ Original Case. Archtone. Model H-1215. For Sale

Travel back in time with this vintage Harmony archtop acoustic guitar. Built in Chicago in 1946, it is complete and ready to play. Known as the \"Archtone,\" it was one of the most popular affordable archtop guitars of its time. Built of solid birch with a sort of dark sunburst and flame finish. It\'s in good, not great, condition. There are various scratches and scuffs and minor dings here \'n\' there, all over, especially around the edges. Comes with the original steel blue Harmony chipboard case. The case is in poor condition, all all the buckles are broken. It does have a leather handle though, and all the latches work. Action is reasonable, maybe not great, between 4/32\" and 5/32\" at the 12th fret.It\'s all original except for the adjustable floating bridge. I\'ll included the original bridge in the case, but it is broken in half. I had a local luthier fashion an identical bridge from rosewood and ebony and used the original Harmony adjustable screw wheels in the bridge. Unlike a lot of these old Harmony archtops, this one does have the original pick guard. The guitar came from the estate of an old central Ohio farmer. He was a multi-instrumentalist, also playing fiddle and accordion. (If you\'re interested, I also have his accordion and fiddle for sale!). Back in the day, it seems like more people played an instrument for music, instead of just listening to others\' music on electronic devices. Anyway, it\'s a nice old guitar. I\'ve been playing it this afternoon, and it sounds nice. Questions?
