1939 Coca Cola Westinghouse standard cooler GAME ROOM READY and USABLE For Sale

1939 Westinghouse Standard Coca Cola cooler. The body was pink and rusty from a very old repaint, and I straighten the body and added a few tack welds to bottom. It still has a few small dents and dings, but nothing major - The idea was never to do a 100% restoration, because I knew I would need some repo parts. I cleaned and primed, and painted with fresh Coca Cola red paint, upon VERY close inspection you can see tiny marks and small areas not a smooth where rust was removed...Its not 100% smooth, Its all original metal - no blasting or filler was used anywhere on the body. The lettering was purchased from restoration site ($125), computer cut vinyl decals and they look fantastic, I did 2 coats of clear coat after painting and again after applying lettering, The bottle opener and cap catcher are also a repo ($60) but were needed parts, together the body looks great.. The tub needed repair, its the original tube with 2 repaired corners with new metal welded, new wooded support brackets for bottom, and then painted black with the flex seal paint (the stuff the makes a screen door into a boat) so It will hold plenty of ice/water to cool your drinks, with no leaks, just plug the drain hole and its ready to use! The black gasket on top of the tub (where the lid rests) is original, cleaned up best I could. The lid is also original both sides - The original lids have embossed lettering on bottom side, the repos do not, just smooth. The hinges and handles on the lid are also original. Unfortunately I had to use filler on a couple places on the lid where rust and damage had taken over, I prefer not to add filler and maintain original metal, but the piece was falling apart. Only the worst spots were repaired, so it still shows spots and bubbling under the paint (on the lid only) - I knew this would happen, but I painted to match and wanted that authentic feel. again, only the filler was used on the lid, repo lids are available, but don\'t have the emblems. I has a 50\" TV on top of the in my living room and it looked amazing, everyone loved it.
an AMAZING usable and collectable piece, 1939 Westinghouse cooler standard size (two lids) Fully restored they ask $1,500 - $2,000. I tried to keep as much original as i could, and left minor imperfection to give more authentic feel. Looks amazing in any room. Pick up only...I do have a truck and would consider some driving if close. I gave $250 for the basket case cooler, and about $300 for paint and parts...Plus lots and lots of hours of welding, prep, painting, decals...I\'m trying to start on 2 more, selling this one to cover parts for the next. The winner will love it for the the price ! I enjoyed it for almost 2 years as my TV stand in my living room.
