You are offerding on a portable wind-up gramophone in full working order. It is a Decca Junior 33 which I would say dates from the 1930s and plays the old 78rpm records. It is nice and original and everything works as it should, even down to the novel little needle box, marked Decca, which opens and closes as you move the lid up and down. The black rexine covered case, embossed 'Decca' on the handle side, is good for its age, showing some marks etc. comensurate with use, although it does look as if it has been cared for fairly well. The metal edge pieces, catches, hinges and cover plate for the winder hole, look at one time to have been blacked - this still shows in places, but there is also now some very light surface rusting, the worst being on the handle side. I am afraid the photos do not do the case or machine justice - in real life it seems to look much better. The swing cover over the winder hole is all there and works perfectly. Inside, the aluminium horn back is good and has its original transfer at the top. The central covered horn is very brightly plated and is excellent (plating looks black in places on the photos, but is absolutely bright and perfect), as is the tone arm and pickup. Inside the lid there is slight pitting and rusting on the clips that hold the tone arm and winding handle. The plating on the turntable edge has deteriorated in some places, although not serious, and the turntable has its original brown felt covering which is very good. In general this is a nice little machine that has not been 'got at' over the years like many have, and can still be fully used. It measures approximately 13" x 10" x 8" and weighs approximately 6.1/2 kg. Please email if you need to know anything further or need any more photos. I welcome overseas buyers, but because of its weight, shipping costs will vary depending upon your location. To give you an idea of overseas shipping cost, in the Postage and Payments section of the listing you will find prices for France and the USA. Please email before offerding for shipping to other countries. Please see below for more pictures of this gramophone note post and packing charges are given for both the UK and overseas.
If you are offerding on any of my other sales, I will combine postage on multiple items.
All UK items will be sent, unless otherwise stated, by Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded. High value items will be sent overseas by Royal Mail Airmail International 'Signed For' service. Items are now sent this way to conform to /Paypal regulations that safeguard both the buyer and the seller. This can make the shipping charge, particularly for overseas buyers, higher than possibly expected as the Recorded/Signed For service adds 77p to UK postage and £4.95 to overseas postage. I can accept no responsibility in the very rare event that items get lost in the post, but I will endeavour to do all I can to help the buyer by contacting Royal Mail and getting them to do the necessary search. Please be aware that it is illegal to falsify the value or contents on Customs documentation and under no circumstances will I do this. Overseas buyers are responsible for all duties and taxes, if applicable, that are levied by their Customs.
I also accept payment by cheque or Postal Order from UK buyers
