TheR Ricasso has three stamps of approval,No 15, The distal Winged arrow of the War Department UK, and the X forthe stress bending test, for safety to the user.
The L Ricasso has numerous approval stamps. TheBritish Crown is worn with wear, and Below theE.R of King Edward V11 (1901-1910)
Thewood grips, screws and rivets are tight.
TheR side of the pommel is stamped , including ! ! and War Dept Arrow head. Theoil hole is characteristic for cleaning into the mortise.
ThePress Stud moves freely.
Theblade is in excellent condition, with minimal blade edge wear.
TheScabbard of leather is is near perfect condition, with no defects in thestitching.
TheTop mount locket shows an indentation below the oval frog stud, and the chapeand finial in good condition, a staple repair is evident in my opinion.
