Offered is a wonderful curved blade ADZE. The blade is 7 3/8\" long x 4\" wide and has about a 1/4\" curve \"concaved \". The blade shows that it is a work of art. That being how it was crafted and the way cutting edge was hand forged to the body of the blade. Thehard woodhandle maybe oak? The hand hewnhandle looks to be made out of a branch of a tree! We find that the handle was made and or repaired with (2) two hand forged bolts, very unique!! Yes there are splits and or cracks in the handle but this adze still has life in it. It would be delightful to use this adze in building a coastal dugout canoe or totem pole. Go for it and have fun with an artifact that is well over 100 years in age. Maybe 150 or better !!!
